Lübeck and Cloppenburg record over 1.2 million km in Germany’s 2026 Stadtradeln bike campaign

The Radsport Team Lübeck is entering the national Stadtradeln climate‑bike ride for the thirteenth time. The event runs from 30 May to 19 June 2026 across the Hanseatic city, inviting any cyclist to log kilometres on daily commutes, training rides or leisure trips. The team offers beginner training sessions in Stockelsdorf on Tuesdays, with up to five performance groups, and encourages residents to join via its website and social media.

In Cloppenburg, 788 participants rode in 68 teams during the three‑week stretch from 1 to 21 May. They covered roughly 127 200 km, saving an estimated 21 tonnes of CO₂ compared with car travel. Top individual riders logged more than 1 300 km each, while senior cyclists also posted impressive distances. Team awards were given based on kilometre‑per‑head performance, and school classes competed, with the Liebfrauenschule 7b leading the school ranking. The organizers distributed cash vouchers and bike‑related prizes to participants.
