Kosovo's political landscape faces significant tension as the Parliament prepares for its constitutive session. A central point of contention is the nomination of Bekim Sejdiu as a consensus presidential candidate, a move resulting from an agreement between Albin Kurti's Vetëvendosje Movement and the LDK. However, this agreement has faced internal resistance within the LDK, with six deputies opposing the candidacy. Paris Guri, an LDK deputy, suggested that internal conflicts with party leader Lumir Abdixhiku may have contributed to this opposition, noting that the party's current number of deputies limits its ability to propose alternative candidates.

Beyond the presidential election, the new parliamentary session is expected to address critical issues including territorial reform, electoral reform, and judicial salary disputes. The Institute for Kosovo Justice (IKD) has called for the immediate constitution of the Assembly, warning that the delay in fulfilling constitutional deadlines must not be used as a reason to maintain institutional dysfunction. Meanwhile, opposition members have criticized the majority for attempting to pass significant reforms, such as territorial restructuring, without broad consensus.
