Le Civette RSA closure in Florence to trigger 29 layoffs

The Le Civette residential care facility (RSA) in Florence is scheduled to close on December 31, leading to a collective redundancy procedure for 29 employees. During a meeting between trade unions, the operator Proges, USL Toscana Centro, and the Società della Salute of Florence, the USL confirmed its intention to shut down the facility.

While USL Toscana Centro expressed a general willingness to find solutions for staff relocation, unions report that no concrete plan has been presented regarding the timing, methods, or conditions to ensure job and wage continuity. The FP CGIL union has expressed strong opposition to the closure, noting that the facility is a strategic part of the San Salvi complex and that its removal would weaken local socio-sanitary services during a period of high demand and long waiting lists.
