Le Tour de Langkawi 2026 prepares for 30th anniversary edition

The 30th edition of the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2026 is set to take place in Malaysia from September 27 to October 4. The UCI 2. Pro category race will span eight stages covering 1,264.8 km, featuring three significant climbs at Gunung Jerai, Cameron Highlands, and Genting Highlands.

Local rider Muhammad Nur Aiman Rosli of the Terengganu Cycling Team plans to conserve energy during the initial climbing stages to launch an attack during the final three stages. Meanwhile, Malaysian Pro Cycling rider Mohamad Izzat Hilmi Abdul Halil aims for his first podium finish, targeting the opening stage sprint from Shah Alam to Kampar.

Concerns have arisen regarding XDS Astana Team sprinter Matteo Malucelli, whose participation is uncertain after a training crash resulted in hand injuries. While initial X-rays showed no broken bones, medical specialists are still evaluating his condition.

To accommodate the opening stage, authorities in Shah Alam have announced temporary road closures affecting several major routes, including the Guthrie Highway and DASH Highway, starting from 10:45 AM on the race day.
