Lennart Jasch wins Le Tour de Langkawi 2026

Overview

The 30th edition of the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2026, an eight-stage race covering 1,264.8 km, concluded with German cyclist Lennart Jasch of the Tudor Pro Cycling Team crowned as the overall champion. Jasch secured the title by maintaining the orange jersey from his stage two victory at Gunung Jerai through to the final stage in Putrajaya, finishing with a total time of 28 hours, 57 minutes, and 28 seconds. He also claimed the polka dot jersey as the King of the Mountains.

Earlier in the race, Matteo Malucelli of the XDS Astana Team won the opening 193-kilometer stage from Shah Alam to Kampar, overcoming recent hand injuries to take the initial lead. However, the general classification shifted during the fifth stage, where Nicolas Breuillard won the climb at Genting Highlands. This stage allowed Jasch to take the overall lead.

Organizers characterized the 2026 edition as a success despite featuring some of the most challenging routes in the event’s history. LTdL Chief Operating Officer Emir Abdul Jalal noted that the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Commissaires' Panel provided positive feedback regarding race documentation and safety measures managed by the Royal Malaysia Police.
