Leah Stewart responds to radio hosts questioning shark attack account

Leah Stewart, a survivor of a June 13 great white shark attack at Sydney’s Coogee Beach, has addressed public scrutiny following comments made by a radio broadcast team. Stewart, who underwent amputation of her left arm after the attack, recently appeared on programs such as ‘60 Minutes’ and ‘Good Morning Britain’ to recount her experience.

Her accounts drew criticism from Fox FM hosts Brendan Fevola, Nick Cody, and Kate Langbroek. Fevola specifically questioned the validity of her survival details, suggesting she was “adding mayo” to the story and doubting her ability to make calculated decisions during the attack.

In response to the backlash, Stewart shared a message on Instagram explaining her calm demeanor during interviews, stating that she feels “disconnected” from the event as her mind works to protect her while she processes the trauma. Amid the controversy, Stewart also reunited with the lifeguards who provided life-saving first aid and CPR immediately following the incident.
