Leah Stewart seen in Sydney following shark attack survival
Leah Stewart, a 35-year-old schoolteacher who survived a great white shark attack at Coogee Beach on June 13, was recently seen spending Father’s Day with her family in Sydney.
During the attack, Stewart fought the shark by striking it with her left arm, a decision she stated was made because it was the limb she was “more willing to lose”. The encounter resulted in her spending 10 days in a coma and required the amputation of her left arm.
Stewart recently shared her account of the ordeal on 60 Minutes, describing the shark’s appearance and how thoughts of her daughter provided the strength to fight. Despite some recent social media and radio commentary questioning the details of her account, Stewart has remained focused on her rehabilitation and family life.
