Florencio Varela triple homicide: New suspect arrested

Authorities have arrested a new suspect, David Alberto Godoy, in the investigation of the triple homicide in Florencio Varela, Argentina. This brings the total number of detainees to 16.

Godoy, approximately 40 years old, was already in custody for a separate armed robbery in Buenos Aires. Investigators linked him to the crime through cell phone analysis, suggesting he was in the white Chevrolet Tracker used to transport the victims and was present at the scene where Morena Verdi (20), Brenda del Castillo (20), and Lara Gutiérrez (15) were killed.

The murders occurred nearly a year ago, following a deceptive promise of a party and payment. The victims were reportedly tortured and killed in a crime linked to drug trafficking. Federal Judge Jorge Rodríguez has ordered Godoy to be interrogated, and the judicial secrecy of the case has been extended.
