Arsenal pursues Aston Villa midfielder Morgan Rogers as Trossard eyes Villa move

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is intensifying interest in Aston Villa’s 23‑year‑old attacking midfielder Morgan Rogers, with reports suggesting a bid close to £100 million. Rogers, who signed a long‑term contract with Villa until 2030, has indicated a preference for joining the Premier League champions, and Villa are demanding a high price for the player.

At the same time, Arsenal appear prepared to allow Belgian winger Leandro Trossard to leave for Aston Villa. Trossard, 31, is entering the final year of his contract and has expressed a desire for regular playing time. Arsenal, who invested about £21 million in him in 2023, are looking to recoup a significant portion of that fee as Villa show strong interest in the versatile attacker who recorded eight goals and eleven assists last season.

Both clubs are reportedly in active negotiations, with Arsenal weighing the financial and squad implications of acquiring Rogers while potentially off‑loading Trossard to bolster Villa’s attacking options for the 2026/27 campaign.
