Leandro Trossard set to join Besiktas from Arsenal

Arsenal have reached an agreement with Turkish club Besiktas for the transfer of Belgian winger Leandro Trossard. The deal is reported to be worth around €20 million, comprising a €18 million fee plus €2 million in performance bonuses. Trossard, 31, has agreed personal terms on a three‑year contract running to June 2029 with an optional extra year, and is expected to undergo a medical in Istanbul within the next few days.

The move will free up space in Arsenal’s attacking line‑up, where manager Mikel Arteta is already planning a replacement. The club have identified Club Brugge’s Christos Tzolis as the preferred successor, with negotiations set to continue once Trossard’s departure is confirmed. Besiktas are also reported to be offering the player a salary of roughly €9 million per season.

The transfer follows Trossard’s three‑and‑a‑half‑year spell at Arsenal, during which he made 174 appearances, scored 36 goals and provided 34 assists, and helped the club win the Premier League title. His departure comes after a strong showing for Belgium at the 2026 World Cup, where he contributed two goals and three assists.
