Lebanese Army to host 10km race and roadworks in Beirut

The Lebanese Army's Higher Center for Military Sports, under the patronage of Army Commander General Rudolf Heikal, will organize the ‘Lebanese Army 10km Race’ on Sunday, October 11, 2026. Starting at 6:00 AM, the race will begin at the Central Military Club in Manara and follow a route along the seaside through the American University of Beirut, the Phoenicia Hotel, the Beirut Naval Base, Beirut Port, Zaitunay Bay, and the Ain al-Mreisseh Corniche.

To facilitate the event, the Internal Security Forces have announced that vehicles will be removed from the seaside route in both directions starting at 10:00 PM on Saturday, October 10.

Additionally, road marking works will commence on the recently paved Tariq al-Sham road in Beirut. The project, which will last approximately three weeks, involves the stretch leading to the Military Hospital and the former Prime Minister's headquarters, passing the French Embassy and Sudico toward the Ring Bridge. These works will take place nightly from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM and are not expected to block traffic.
