Lebanese Government Accused of Illegitimate Deal with Israel

The Beirut Scholars Committee warned that the current Lebanese authority’s alleged framework agreement with Israel, signed in Washington, “cancels the national partnership” and threatens Lebanon’s sovereignty, warning of further killing, displacement and political division.

Hezbollah Secretary‑General Sheikh Naeem Qasem denounced the same agreement as a “humiliation and great sin”, saying it violates the Lebanese constitution, ties Israeli withdrawal to the disarmament of resistance, and pledged to use all means, including Arab and international pressure, to oppose it.
