Lebanese MP Ali Fayyad says authorities act like a defeated side

Lebanese parliamentarian Dr. Ali Fayyad, a member of the Hezbollah‑aligned "Al‑Wafa" bloc, criticized the Lebanese government as behaving "like a loser" and negotiating terms of surrender. He made the remarks at a ceremony honoring martyr Saeed Ali Nasim Hassan, attended by clerics, families of the fallen and local residents. Fayyad linked the government's conduct to ongoing Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon and border villages, accusing officials of providing cover for Israeli aggression. He also referenced the United States' perceived failure to uphold its memorandum of understanding with Iran and warned of escalating regional tensions involving Yemen, Iraq and Iran. The MP called for heightened vigilance and readiness for any possible escalation, urging Lebanese solidarity against external pressure.
