Lebanese President Joseph Avn travelled to Ankara at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. During the meeting, Avn said the close ties between Lebanon and Turkey are evolving into a strategic partnership and praised Turkey’s role as a regional power.

Avn highlighted Turkish assistance to Lebanon, including training and equipment for the Lebanese Armed Forces, support for the UN‑mandated UNIFIL mission, and humanitarian aid such as container homes for displaced citizens. Turkish NGOs have also delivered over 1.2 billion TRY of aid, including 80 containers of food, hygiene and shelter supplies.

Erdoğan condemned Israel’s attacks on Lebanon as a “humanity crime,” affirmed Turkey’s continued political, humanitarian and security support, and expressed readiness to assist Lebanon after UNIFIL’s eventual withdrawal.
