Lebanese security forces arrest drug trafficker in Safra
Lebanese security forces arrested a Lebanese national suspected of drug trafficking in the Safra region during a targeted security operation. The arrest was conducted following instructions from Mount Lebanon Public Prosecutor Sami Sader.
The suspect reportedly utilized the abandoned Byblos Carpet Factory, which had been left derelict after a fire in 2012, as a base of operations. In a method mirroring a previous criminal known as ‘Abu Salla’ in the Bekaa region, the suspect allegedly used a basket to distribute drugs from above to avoid detection.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the scale of the criminal activity, identify associated individuals, and establish whether the site served as a central distribution hub or part of a larger network.
