Lebanon and Palestine experience soaring temperatures amid heat wave

The Lebanese meteorological service warned that temperatures across the country will approach 40 °C, with high humidity and occasional fog on the northern highlands. Daily forecasts call for partly cloudy skies, strong surface winds from the south‑west, and coastal temperatures ranging from 23 °C to 31 °C, while inland and mountainous areas see highs between 30 °C and 37 °C.

In the Palestinian territories, the weather agency forecast hot conditions in the mountains and severe heat in other regions, with temperatures about 3 °C to 6 °C above the annual average. Light to moderate westerly‑north‑westerly winds are expected, and the sea will show modest wave heights. Authorities warned residents to avoid prolonged direct sun exposure, especially between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., and cautioned against igniting fires in dry, grassy areas.
