Lebanon announces road closures for Hezbollah commemoration

The Lebanese Internal Security Forces have announced significant traffic disruptions and road closures scheduled for September 27, 2026. These measures are in response to a festival commemorating the second anniversary of the deaths of former Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah and Hashem Safieddine.

Starting at 13:00, roads leading to the Sayyed al-Shuhada shrine in Bir al-Abed (Airport Road) will be closed from the direction of the old Airport Road and Ziad Rahbani Highway. The festival is set to begin at 16:30.

Additionally, the Beirut and Mount Lebanon Water Establishment will conduct emergency repairs on Burj Abi Haidar Street in front of the Civil Building between 08:30 and 12:30 on the same day. This work will necessitate traffic diversions from the Al-Rifa'i intersection and Saeb Salam Boulevard toward Cola, with specific routes redirected through Al-Assir Street and the Cola Bridge area.
