Lebanon, New Hampshire police warn of aggressive animal attacks

Residents of Lebanon, New Hampshire, are on high alert following a series of aggressive animal attacks reported between August 30 and September 1, 2026. The Lebanon Police Department issued a warning after three separate incidents occurred in the area.

Surveillance footage captured one incident showing a small animal emerging from a tree line to attack a man's feet and ankles as he exited a vehicle. Witnesses suggest the animal may be a fisher-cat or a gray fox. Authorities have expressed concern regarding potential rabies infection, noting that the animal's unusual aggression is a common symptom of the virus.

Police have urged residents to report any bites, scratches, or unusual animal encounters immediately, emphasizing that the virus can be transmitted through more than just direct bites.
