Lebanon, New Hampshire police warn of aggressive wild animal

Authorities in Lebanon, New Hampshire, are warning residents of an “unusually aggressive” wild animal that has attacked at least three people in the Centerra Parkway area since Sunday.

While the exact species has not been confirmed, officials believe the animal may be a gray fox or a fisher cat. Surveillance footage captured the creature charging at individuals near a U-Haul truck in a parking lot, where it reportedly jumped on a person's leg.

Lebanon Police Chief Phillip Roberts noted that such aggressive behavior is often indicative of illness, such as rabies. The Lebanon Police Department is currently coordinating with the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department to locate the animal. Residents and visitors are urged to remain aware of their surroundings, especially near wooded or brush-covered areas, and to seek medical attention immediately if bitten or scratched.
