Lebanon's Prime Minister says Israel has bombed the country nearly 3,500 times since the cease‑fire
Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Salame said Israel has carried out almost 3,500 airstrikes against Lebanon since a U.S.‑backed cease‑fire with Hezbollah was declared on 16‑17 April.
From 17 April to 7 June the Israeli Air Force delivered 3,491 strikes, carried out 407 controlled demolitions and six “leveling” operations, turning entire villages in southern Lebanon into rubble. The Israeli military did not respond to requests for comment.
The campaign has displaced more than one million people—about one‑fifth of Lebanon’s population—and has strained the country’s ability to host displaced families. Recent escalation between Iran and Israel added further displacement, with Iran bombing northern Israel in retaliation and Israel striking southern Beirut suburbs.
Hezbollah continues to fire at Israeli targets and has rejected U.S.‑mediated talks seeking a broader settlement.
