Lecco's Archimede nursery school reopens in new location

The Archimede municipal nursery school in Lecco officially reopened on October 1, 2026, following a fire that struck its previous location in the Bonacina district on June 18.

The service has been relocated to the Santo Stefano state kindergarten complex at via Aldo Moro 4. This move has transformed the site into an integrated educational hub serving children from ages 0 to 6. Local officials, including Mayor Filippo Boscagli, noted that the relocation was chosen to maintain continuity for the children and their families, ensuring that class groups could remain together as they progress through different stages of early education.

Following the fire, the municipal administration evaluated numerous options to ensure service continuity. The Santo Stefano facility was selected because it required minimal modifications to accommodate the 0-3 age group and offers ample space. The reopening was marked by a formal ceremony attended by local administrators, educators, and families.
