Lefkada advances with LED street lighting upgrade and cultural heritage initiatives led by Deputy Governor Antonis Douv​

The Regional Unit of Lefkada has completed a major phase of installing autonomous, smart, LED‑controlled streetlights on key provincial roads, including the Lefkada‑Karya‑Englovi, Asprogerakata‑Chortata and Bavkiri‑Platystoma routes. The new lighting improves visibility and road safety for drivers and pedestrians while delivering significant energy savings through photovoltaic technology and remote management. Work will continue in the coming days to extend the system to southern Lefkada.

Deputy Governor Antonis Douvitsas met with the board of the Lefkada Studies Company to discuss safeguarding and promoting the island’s history, culture and intellectual heritage. The meeting exchanged views on possible cooperation with the regional administration, praised the company’s recent symposium and affirmed a shared commitment to cultural development on the island.
