Kristijan Aleksić pleads guilty to killing food delivery driver in Drniš

The trial of Kristijan Aleksić has begun at the Šibenik County Court regarding the murder of 19-year-old food delivery driver Luka Milovac in Drniš. Aleksić, 50, pleaded guilty at the start of the proceedings.

According to court testimony and police statements, Aleksić premeditated the attack, choosing a food delivery driver as a target because he believed it would be an easy way to ensure someone came to his house. He lured Milovac inside by claiming he had a leg injury. Aleksić used an improvised firearm, which he reportedly manufactured following instructions found on YouTube, and a 17-centimeter military knife.

The defendant stated in his police interrogation that he committed the crime due to difficult life circumstances, including the death of his mother and mounting debts, expressing a desire to end up in prison. He also noted, “I was tired of life, I had nothing left to borrow.”

Aleksić is charged with aggravated murder and the illegal possession, manufacture, and acquisition of weapons and explosives. He is a repeat offender, having previously served a 12-year sentence for a 1994 murder. The case has prompted the Croatian government to propose legislative changes to introduce life imprisonment for the most serious crimes.
