Legal proceedings continue in Serbian murder trial and Croatian prison assault case

In Serbia, the Higher Court in Zrenjanin has commenced the main trial of a mother and son from Bečej, L. F. (33) and K. F. (51), accused of complicity in murder. The indictment alleges that on June 22 of last year, they killed I. H. (45) in their family home by inflicting 25 stab wounds to his head and body. The victim, the defendant's former partner, died at the scene. The suspects have had their detention extended until September 22.

In Croatia, the Municipal Criminal Court in Zagreb has issued a non-final sentence of four years and two months in prison to Kristijan E. (32) for causing grievous bodily harm. The incident occurred seven years ago in a prison hospital in Zagreb, where the defendant attacked a cellmate, resulting in the victim losing sight in one eye. The defendant denies the charges, claiming he does not remember the specific details of the altercation.
