Legal reforms advance in Querétaro and Aguascalientes

In Querétaro, the State Judiciary has authorized three professionals to act as private facilitators for Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms (MASC). This decision, made through the Center for Alternative Justice, allows these individuals to apply dispute resolution methods in the private sector and exercise limited public faith regarding agreements reached. These agreements can acquire the status of 'res judicata' under the applicable legal framework.

Meanwhile, in Aguascalientes, the State Bar of Lawyers is proposing the creation of a certifying body to train and evaluate litigators. This initiative responds to the upcoming implementation of the National Code of Civil and Family Procedures, scheduled for April 2027. The Bar's president, Erick Monroy Sánchez, warned that current training for legal professionals and judicial staff is insufficient and emphasized the need for preparation to avoid the procedural difficulties seen during previous transitions to the accusatory criminal justice system.
