Legambiente volunteers collect 50 quintals of waste in Baia

During the third edition of the Sea Week, titled ‘Ascoltiamo il battito del mare’, volunteers collected approximately 50 quintals of waste from the sea along the cliffs between Baia Flaminia and Gabicce. The initiative, organized by the Comitato Area Marina San Bartolo and Legambiente Circolo di Ragusello, focused on raising awareness about marine pollution.

The recovered materials included 60 buoys, 48 bags of plastic packaging, tires, nets, toys, and detergent containers. Participants included local students from the Marconi scientific high school and the Cecchi agricultural institute. Following the cleanup, Legambiente provincial president Rosalia Cipolletta called on local authorities to establish permanent waste collection stations along the cliffs to support the repopulation of local mollusk species.
