Leganés and Peñaranda schedule August cultural festivals

The municipality of Leganés has announced the programme for its Fiestas de Butarque, which will run from 11 to 16 August 2026. The week will feature free concerts including the Festival de Radiolé, performances by artists such as Café Quijano, Demarco Flamenco and the orchestra París de Noia, a traditional parade of giants and a religious ceremony dedicated to Nuestra Señora de Butarque. Additional activities include a “Supermartxón” DJ party for adults, a children’s foam party, discounts for fair attractions and special quiet‑hour schedules for visitors with autism.

In Peñaranda de Duero, the town’s August calendar runs from 1 to 16 August, offering a mix of cultural, sporting and scientific events. Highlights include a recital by Raúl Díaz de Dios, the III National Calva Championship, astronomy observation sessions, art and photography contests, open days at the Eloy Rodero museum, outdoor cinema, a cycling route to the Azud de Río Lobos and various musical performances. The festival reaches its peak on 15 August with the celebration of the Virgen de la Asunción, featuring traditional religious rites, a foam party and a mobile disco, followed by concluding activities on 16 August such as inflatable games and a rumba master‑class.
