Spanish August festivals 2026

In late July 2026 the municipalities of Leganés and Peñaranda de Duero announced their summer festival programmes. Leganés detailed its Fiestas de Butarque (11‑16 August) with free concerts, a traditional parade, a religious ceremony and special provisions for visitors with autism. Peñaranda’s calendar (1‑16 August) was described as a mix of cultural, sporting and scientific events, including concerts, a foam party, a cycling route and a celebration of the Virgen de la Asunción on 15 August.

A few days later Peñaranda released a more detailed schedule for its Ferias y Fiestas, confirming many of the earlier highlights and adding specific activities such as a children’s triathlon, a 3‑on‑3 basketball tournament, nightly cinema screenings, a futsal marathon, a chess memorial, a water‑festival and a final verbena with live orchestras. The second release refined dates and introduced community‑focused events like a charity potato tasting and a Red Cross collection, completing the town’s August programme.
