Legnano's Estate Gentile project connects youth and elderly

In Legnano, the ‘Estate Gentile’ project has completed its 22nd edition, fostering connections between 83 elderly residents and 30 students. The initiative, organized by Auser, aims to bridge generational gaps through listening and shared attention.

The project has received recognition from the Lombardy region and the Vatican Secretariat of State, with a letter from the Pope praising the ‘gift of community’ and encouraging youth volunteerism. Local Mayor Lorenzo Radice highlighted the project's role in building community welfare through sociality, health, and education. Participating students received certificates and sports vouchers for their involvement.
