LEGO Skylines announced as new city-building game

Paradox Interactive, Iceflake Studios, and the LEGO Group have officially announced LEGO Skylines during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026. The new title is a city-building simulation that combines the management depth of the Cities: Skylines series with the creative, playful aesthetic of LEGO bricks.

Developed by Iceflake Studios—the team currently working on Cities: Skylines II—the game aims to balance functional urban planning with whimsical experimentation. While players must manage essential infrastructure such as electricity, water, food production, waste management, and emergency services like hospitals and fire departments, the game encourages creative and even absurd layouts. Examples of gameplay include building specialized production chains, such as bakeries that use locally grown wheat to produce donuts.

LEGO Skylines is planned for release on PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. A specific release date has not yet been confirmed.
