LEGO Skylines revealed as standalone city-building game

Paradox Interactive, Iceflake Studios, and the LEGO Group have officially revealed LEGO Skylines, a standalone city-building simulation game. Debuting at Gamescom's Opening Night Live event, the title is not an expansion for Cities: Skylines II or a successor to the series, but a separate experience.

Players will manage essential urban infrastructure, including electricity, water, food, healthcare, sewage, and waste collection. The gameplay focuses on balancing functional management with creative freedom, allowing players to customize cities using LEGO bricks, decorations, and specialized plots. Progression is tied to city ratings and citizen happiness.

LEGO Skylines is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. While no official release window has been set by Paradox, Nintendo currently lists a 2027 window for the Switch 2 version.
