LEGO to invest $400 million in Nuevo León manufacturing expansion
The LEGO Group has announced a $400 million investment to expand its manufacturing and logistics operations in Nuevo León, Mexico, between 2026 and 2029. The project, part of the federal Plan México, aims to increase the site's production capacity by approximately 35%.
The expansion will involve the construction of 62,000 square meters of new infrastructure, including a state-of-the-art packing hall and a high-capacity automated warehouse. This development is expected to create 1,300 new jobs, adding to the existing workforce at the Ciénega de Flores complex, which is currently the company's largest manufacturing facility globally.
Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and Economy Secretary Marcelo Ebrard noted that the investment reflects international confidence in Mexico's economy and its specialized workforce. The expansion is intended to strengthen both domestic supply and export capabilities for the global toy market.
