LEGOLAND Florida Resort reopens Coastersaurus wooden roller coaster

LEGOLAND Florida Resort has reopened Coastersaurus, which is currently the only remaining fully wooden roller coaster in Florida. The ride, formerly known as Triple Hurricane at Cypress Gardens Adventure Park, underwent a comprehensive three-year refurbishment.

According to technical staff, the project involved a complete overhaul, including replacing the structure, running surfaces, and the entire control system. The goal of the investment by Merlin Entertainments was to preserve the historical experience of a wooden coaster, which offers a distinct sound and feel compared to steel alternatives.

Local media coverage of the reopening included a crew from Tampa-based WFTS, a station owned by Scripps.
