Convicted Murderer Leđiba Ravlić Dies in Sarajevo Prison

Leđiba Ravlić, aged 78, died on 12 June 2026 while serving a 45‑year sentence at the Kazneno‑popravni zavod (KPZ) in Sarajevo’s Igman prison. She had been transferred from the Zenica facility on 8 June due to a severe health condition that left her immobile. Prison officials confirmed her death as natural, and emergency medical services attended the scene. The incident was reported to the Ilidža police department, which notified a Sarajevo canton prosecutor to conduct an investigation.

Ravlić was convicted, along with her son Goran Ravlić, for the brutal murder of Nermine Krajine, her daughter‑in‑law, which occurred on 28 June 2024 in Sarajevo’s Pofalići neighbourhood. The court sentenced both to 45 years in prison for a series of violent acts that included severe physical torture, deprivation, and attempts to conceal the victim’s body. The case attracted extensive media coverage due to the gruesome nature of the crimes and the elaborate efforts to hide evidence, such as purchasing tools and cleaning agents.

The prison director, Munib Isaković, stated, "U petak, 12. juna 2026. godine, u jutarnjim satima u pritvorskoj ćeliji KPZ Sarajevo Igman preminula je pritvorenica Leđiba Ravlić," confirming the circumstances of her death.
