Leiden's Jaarmarkt opens during Lakenfeesten on June 26
The annual Jaarmarkt will take place on Friday, 26 June, in the Haarlemmerstraat and Hartebrugkerkplein of Leiden as part of the city’s Lakenfeesten. More than ninety stalls will line the city’s main shopping street, offering fashion, jewellery, accessories, home goods, gifts and food. The event runs free of charge from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and is expected to draw thousands of visitors.
A dedicated “Modeplein” will showcase the latest collections from local retailers, while a DJ provides summer music and a caricature artist offers on‑the‑spot drawings. Sustainability is highlighted through a Waste Bar and the VNTG Upcycle Station, where visitors can see used materials and clothing transformed into new products, promoting circular fashion.
