Lemnos firefighter rescues hedgehog after wildfire

Following a wildfire in the Ryakia area near Lychna on the island of Lemnos, a firefighter was captured in a touching moment providing water to a small hedgehog.

Firefighting forces had been working to contain the blaze and prevent it from reaching the village. Once the fire was brought under control, the firefighter knelt on the ground to offer water to the thirsty animal found in the parched landscape. The Lychna community shared photographs of the encounter, noting that the gesture demonstrated respect for life.
