León hunting season begins with high quail numbers

The start of the mid-hunting season (media veda) has shown positive initial results, particularly regarding the presence of quail. Hunters in the province of León, specifically in the northern areas and the Cea-Sahagún region, have reported higher numbers of quail compared to previous years.

Despite high temperatures, which have driven some hunting groups toward cooler and more humid areas, the season has begun with notable success. Early reports indicate that hunters have been able to secure significant catches, with some retrieving up to ten to twelve birds during the opening sessions.
