León officials discuss funding for Aeropuerto Boulevard bridge

Officials in León, Guanajuato, are addressing the future of the Aeropuerto Boulevard bridge project following a shift in funding allocation. Deputy Jorge Espadas announced that 435 million pesos originally intended for the bridge will instead remain in León to strengthen health services at the Regional General Hospital, as per Governor Libia Dennise.

Despite this reallocation, the state government has expressed a willingness to participate in the bridge's construction through concurrent contributions with the municipality. Mayor Alejandra Gutiérrez Campos emphasized the project's importance, noting that the bridge connects to Highway 45 and serves over 200,000 vehicles daily, benefiting both León and surrounding municipalities.

While the municipality has invested in land liberation, legal proceedings involving private parties and a precautionary measure have hindered progress. Mayor Gutiérrez expressed confidence in the state government's commitment to finding the necessary 430 million pesos to complete the infrastructure, regardless of the specific funding source.
