León Product Fair concludes with record attendance in Gijón

The third edition of the León Product Fair in Gijón has concluded, marking its most successful year in terms of both visitor numbers and sales. The event, organized by the Diputación de León as part of the Casa de León festivities in Asturias, saw significant interest in the province's gastronomy and traditions at the Plaza Mayor.

The closing ceremony featured a traditional parade of 'pendones' (Leonese banners), which traveled from Campo Valdés along the Paseo del Muro de San Lorenzo. The procession included over twenty municipal banners and insignias, accompanied by the Noega bagpipe band and various Leonese folklore groups.

Local officials, including Gijón Mayor Carmen Moriyón and the first Vice President of the Diputación, Roberto Aller, participated in the parade. The provincial institution reported an extraordinary balance for this third edition, highlighting the strong reception of Leonese products among the Asturian public and tourists.
