Leo Express launches 1,300‑km low‑cost cross‑Europe train service

Czech private rail operator Leo Express will start a new daily long‑distance train service on 25 June. The 1,300‑km (807‑mile) route runs between Przemyśl in eastern Poland, near the Ukrainian border, and Frankfurt Airport in Germany, passing through Kraków, Ostrava, Prague, Dresden, Leipzig and Erfurt.

Tickets are marketed from €10 (£8.65) for early‑bird bookings, with dynamic pricing that can rise as seats fill. The full journey takes about 18 to 18½ hours. Trains are equipped with Wi‑Fi, power outlets, onboard refreshments, air‑conditioning and several seating classes, including premium, business and economy options.

Leo Express promotes the service as a way to “remove the iron curtains” between Western and Eastern Europe, offering a low‑cost alternative to existing operators and providing a direct connection for travelers heading toward Ukraine.
