Leo Express launches Frankfurt‑Prague‑Przemyśl cross‑border rail service

Leo Express began operating a new international connection on 25 June that runs from Frankfurt (Germany) via Prague (Czech Republic) to Bohumín and onward to Przemyśl (Poland) near the Ukrainian border. The Polish section is currently served by a bus shuttle because full train certification is pending, with buses linking Bohumín to Przemyśl via Kraków, Tarnów and Rzeszów.

The service uses modernised RIC‑type coaches equipped with air‑conditioning, Wi‑Fi and on‑board catering. Initially three former first‑class compartment cars provide 54 seats each in economy class, with plans to add sleeper and business‑class cars later in the summer. Ticket prices start at €17.50 for Frankfurt‑Prague and €29.50 to Bohumín, with promotional fares as low as €9.90 advertised.

Leo Express aims to link major Western and Eastern European economic hubs, offering an alternative to air and road travel and supporting cross‑border mobility, especially for passengers heading toward Ukraine. The timetable may be affected by ongoing railway construction in Germany, leading to possible delays or schedule adjustments.
