Leo Express launches Frankfurt‑Prague‑Przemyśl rail service, runs buses in Poland

Czech operator Leo Express announced that its new international rail connection Frankfurt – Prague – Przemyśl will commence on 25 June. The service will use modern RIC‑standard carriages with Wi‑Fi, catering and multilingual crew, and will call at Leipzig, Fulda, Hanau, Offenbach and Frankfurt (Süd) before reaching the Frankfurt airport.

In Poland the train cannot operate yet because a regulatory economic‑balance assessment and infrastructure works in Germany have delayed the route. Leo Express therefore provides substitute buses on the Bogumin‑Kraków‑Tarnów‑Rzeszów‑Przemyśl segment. Tickets are sold for 239 CZK (≈42 PLN); passengers will be refunded and receive a full‑price credit if they cannot travel by train. The company aims to create a trans‑European corridor linking key eastern and western economic centres.

The launch reflects Leo Express’s strategy to expand cross‑border services despite competition concerns raised by Poland’s state railway regulator.
