Leo Express to Operate New International Rail Service Between Plzeň and Munich

Starting on 13 December, private operator Leo Express will replace Czech Railways on the international Ex36 line that links Plzeň, Domažlice and Munich. The company will run seven direct trains each day in both directions on a two‑hourly schedule, including weekends.

The new service will use modernised Express coaches equipped with air‑conditioning, high‑speed internet in both classes, audiovisual passenger information and expanded seating, including a more spacious first‑class cabin. Onboard service will deliver food and drinks directly to passengers' seats, and safety systems will enable selective door opening to accommodate stations with different platform heights. Leo Express is finalising approvals with Czech and German authorities and a Bavarian partner, while also opening new ticket counters at Plzeň and Domažlice stations and recruiting crew for the route.
