Leon Black Walks Out of Congressional Interview Over Epstein NDA Queries

Former Apollo Global Management CEO Leon Black left a closed‑door interview with the House Oversight Committee on June 26 after repeatedly refusing to discuss nondisclosure agreements tied to his long‑standing relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He told committee members, “I’m not here to talk about confidential NDAs,” and declined to answer how many such agreements existed.

Black acknowledged paying Epstein more than $170 million for tax and estate‑planning services and disclosed that he agreed to pay a woman $21 million over 15 years after she allegedly blackmailed him. He said Epstein was aware of the payments but was not his NDA adviser. Following his walk‑out, the committee issued two subpoenas compelling a deposition on Sept 3 and the production of the NDAs next week.
