Leonardo Bove discharged after surviving Crans-Montana nightclub fire

Leonardo Bove, a 16-year-old from Milan, has been discharged from Niguarda Hospital after approximately seven months of hospitalization and intensive rehabilitation. Bove was one of the survivors of the fatal fire at the Le Constellation nightclub in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, which occurred on New Year's Eve and resulted in 41 deaths and 115 injuries.

During the tragedy, Bove suffered severe burns covering approximately 60% of his body. After being stabilized in Switzerland, he was transferred to the specialized Burn Center at Niguarda Hospital in Milan, where he underwent numerous surgeries, laser treatments, and physical therapy.

Reflecting on the event, Bove stated, “I saw my life slip away in one night, I don't want to lose it anymore,” and expressed a desire to leave the tragedy in the past. His family recounted the harrowing period of uncertainty during which his identity had to be confirmed via DNA, noting the emotional difficulty of receiving news of his survival while other families were mourning victims, such as Achille Barosi, one of the six Italians killed in the fire.
