Levica MP criticizes proposed changes to Health Insurance Fund director criteria

Levica MP Jovana Mojsovska has criticized the DPMNE party for proposing changes to the law regarding the appointment of the director for the Health Insurance Fund. Mojsovska alleges that the party is attempting to remove specific educational and professional criteria to facilitate the appointment of Perinski, the current acting director, who may not meet the existing requirements.

Under previous regulations, candidates for the director position were required to have higher education in fields such as management, economics, finance, business administration, public health management, or legal sciences. Mojsovska argues that instead of refining these standards for an institution managing a budget of approximately 900 million euros, the proposed changes replace specific requirements with a general formula used for high-level officials.

The controversy stems from questions raised during Perinski’s initial appointment as acting director regarding his eligibility. While the government previously characterized his appointment as a temporary measure pending a formal selection process, the current legislative proposal is viewed by the opposition as an attempt to bypass established qualifications.
