Levi's unveils couture denim capsule with Christelle Kocher at Paris Couture Week
Levi's debuted a couture‑week capsule in Paris, collaborating with French designer Christelle Kocher (also known for her label Koché). Kocher was given carte blanche to reinterpret Levi's iconic pieces—such as the 501 jean, Trucker II jacket and Baby Brooklyn bag—using haute‑couture techniques including feathering, extensive embroidery, sculptural details and hand‑stitched denim appliqués. The collection featured ten looks, among them a denim bustier gown with a silk mousseline skirt that was first showcased on the Cannes red carpet by model Toni Garrn. Kocher worked at Levi's innovation lab in San Francisco and with Paris artisans, with some pieces requiring more than 300 hours of hand‑crafting. Levi's vice‑president for Europe marketing, Mathilde Vaucher, said the partnership aims to premiumise the American denim brand and reach a VIP clientele by merging French craftsmanship with Levi's heritage. This marks Levi's first appearance at Paris Couture Week and signals a strategic move to bring the brand into the high‑fashion arena. Kocher also hinted at a new chapter for her own label, planning a public comeback in 2027.
