Lewis Hamilton takes pole, Max Verstappen finishes fourth at Barcelona GP
Lewis Hamilton qualified on the front row at the Barcelona Grand Prix after missing the first practice session. He explained that a break from the circuit between the third practice and qualifying helped him regain balance, saying, “It feels great to be up front. Honestly this weekend was so difficult.”
In the race, Hamilton won, while Max Verstappen finished fourth behind George Russell and Lando Norris. Verstappen noted that the Red Bull RB22 was “a little short on all fronts,” citing lack of grip in fast, medium and slow corners and the high tyre‑degradation of the circuit. He added that the performance gap was not due to a single issue but to several small deficits that need further development.
