Lexus and Hyundai introduce new electric sedan competitors

Automakers are introducing new electric sedan options to compete in a market currently led by the Tesla Model 3.

Lexus is launching the ES in both hybrid and fully electric versions. The electric model focuses on providing a reliable, user-friendly experience for customers transitioning to electric power, prioritizing aerodynamics with a drag coefficient of 0.25. While it lacks some advanced features like semi-autonomous driving or a front trunk, it aims to be a high-quality, practical option.

Meanwhile, the Hyundai IONIQ 6 is emerging as a strong alternative for professional drivers, such as taxi operators, due to its efficiency and range. The vehicle offers a range of up to 680 kilometers (WLTP) with its 84 kWh battery version. Designed with a focus on aerodynamics and passenger space, the IONIQ 6 provides a quiet cabin and a 401-liter trunk, positioning it as a competitor to models from BYD, Polestar, and Mazda.
