Lexus announces 2027 LX updates and LBX high-performance prototype

Lexus has announced updates for the 2027 model year of its flagship LX SUV in the United States. The updated lineup includes the LX600 gasoline model and the LX700h hybrid. Key enhancements for the US market include the addition of red brake calipers for the F SPORT Handling grade and a new Palomino interior color option. Additionally, the Premium grade will now feature a digital rearview mirror as standard, and one-touch auto-arrange power-folding rear seats will be standard on F SPORT Handling and Overtrail grades.

Separately, a high-performance prototype of the Lexus LBX has been spotted undergoing testing at the Nürburgring in Germany. The vehicle features aggressive aerodynamic modifications, including an enlarged front splitter, extended side skirts, and a new rear spoiler. Observers suggest this prototype may be a “GRMN-class” model, potentially offering higher performance than the existing LBX MORIZO RR by incorporating technical advancements similar to the GRMN Corolla.
